Just a quick question in relation to close up acts, can audience member/members be used in the performance? I know it’s a stupid question and it talks about audience involvement but just want to be 101% on what the conditions are for this

Stage will be performed in St Martin’s Theatre to an audience of around 300 with excellent viewing conditions.

Close Up will be performed at The Northcote Town Hall to 100 people in raked seating with a live video projection to screen. Again, excellent viewing conditions

Hey,
I was just wondering what size audience is expected for each category. For stage, are we talking like 20, 50, 100, 500 people? and for close up would it be like 5-10 at a table? and would we only perform on one table, or do our performance on a few tables?

You’re correct Paul. You can enter both categories as long as both acts are different.

OK – so I read the rules (I think!)

f) A contestant can only present one act in one category in Stage magic and one act in one category in Close-up magic.

Does this mean I CAN compete one act in Stage and another in Close-up?

Probably silly question and if I wasn’t lazy I’m sure it’s answered somewhere. Anyway – can a person enter BOTH close-up AND Stage competition – as long as each is a different act?

For this, the first ever Oceania Championships, we will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Stage and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Close Up.

The 1st in Stage and the 1st in Close Up will each receive airfares, registration, competition entry fee, and sponsorship to FISM 2012

Hi,

To clarify, will there be prizes in each sub-category e.g. 2nd prize Stage Magic – Manipulation, 3rd Prize Close Up Magic – Micro Magic.
And then the highest first-place scores across all these sub-categories then determines the winner of the title “Champion Stage Magic” and “Champion Close Up Magic”?

Or only a 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the 2 overall categories (Stage and Close Up).
